Will Avatar get the Best Picture at the Golden Globe Awards?

The James Cameron blockbuster movie is taking the waves at the box office, earning already millions of dollars. And on the coming 67th Golden Globe Awards, Avatar will go against Brad Pitt's Inglorious Basterds, Up In The Air, The Hurt Locker and Precious in the Best Picture in the Drama Category.


Avatar tells a story of a paraplegic soldier who is brought to an alien world to take part in a conflict against the planet's indigenous population for a valuable mineral. He is given control of an Avatar: an alien-human hybrid body that he can control with his mind, giving him the chance to walk again, and a way to infiltrate the enemy.

The Golden Globe Awards are presented annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) to recognize outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry, both domestic and foreign in movies and television. This edition marks the 67^th year of the Golden Globe Awards. Big and small names in the industry were named as nominees for this year, so it's exciting to know who will be the winners.

The 67^th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be seen in more than 160 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements.

NBC will telecast live the awards night on January 17, 2010, 5 to 8 pm PT, 8 to 11 pm ET from The Beverly Hilton.
