2009 Primetime Emmy Awards Nominees - A Big Surprise?


And the nominees for this year's Emmy Awards are...there were new faces..And the big surprise? Some very popular favorites were left out...This year's awards will mark a history as"30 Rock," was again nominated for best comedy series with a high number of nods - the most ever for a comedy series in a single season. FOX's "Family Guy," got a nomination for best comedy series. The first time for an animated series to earn a nod in this category since "The Flintstones" in 1961. But last year's Golden Globe winner, HBO's "True Blood" was left out, including other favorites like, "Friday Night Lights," "Boston Legal," "ER," "Grey's Anatomy," "The Shield," and "The Tudors". The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards will be on Sunday, September 20 at the Nokia Theater L.A. LIVE, Los Angeles.
